Change Something
We have flipped the calendar to a new year. Happy 2025!
As promised, I am letting you in on my word for the year: Change.
The word "change" brings up so many things in me – fear, anxiety, resistance, hope, excitement. How about you?
I heard someone last week say "in order to change something, something has to change." Wow!
This has stuck with me, and I find myself thinking about it several times a day.
In what areas of my life do I find myself frustrated? Fitness? Health? Finances? Friendships?
What goals am I struggling to reach by continuing to do the same thing over and over again expecting different results?
The harsh reality is that I must change something in order for something to change. I cannot expect to lose weight by not altering my diet and exercise routine. I cannot expect to save money by driving through the Starbucks line every time I feel like it (preaching to myself here). I cannot have better relationships by waiting for the other person to take the initiative.
Change can be scary. It usually is for me. I'm not a huge fan of it. Mainly because it's uncomfortable and unknown.
But, it's so worth it! Just like a pebble hitting the surface of a smooth lake – it can be small, but the ripple effects are huge.
What is your word/phrase/intent for the year? Is there something you would like to change? Let me know. Maybe I can help. I can at least cheer you on!
