Balance: a state of peace and harmony

I hope that 2023 is full of joy and prosperity for each of you.

At the beginning of each year, I try and pick a “word of the year” for myself. Something to focus on in the 12 months ahead. This year I have chosen the word “balance”.

2022 was a great year for me. Business was good, family was healthy and happy. But towards the end of the year, I found myself completely burned out. Do you ever find yourself feeling that way? Everything is good! All the stuff you are doing is good! But…it’s too much? Turns out you can have too much of a good thing sometimes. I was running on fumes. And, I found I wasn’t really helping anyone. I wasn’t as present. I wasn’t as energetic. I wasn’t as focused. What I was was tired. My body felt it. My brain felt it. And…I am pretty sure my family, friends, and clients felt it.

So this year, I choose BALANCE

  • BALANCE in relationships with family and friends (spending time with my children, one of whom will go to college in the fall).

  • BALANCE in work (it’s great to work hard, but not to the point it hurts – physically, mentally, emotionally).

  • BALANCE in my body (as I get older, I feel more off balance. More yoga).

  • BALANCE in my finances (save and spend wisely).

  • BALANCE in my mind (spending time learning new things).

What is your word of the year? I’d love to hear it.
