Dedication + Motivation = Success

“I’m just not motivated.” Ever heard (or said) that? I have.

What does it mean to be motivated?

Motivation is the general desire or willingness of someone to do something,  or the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.

Often, when my clients initially call me to get organized, they tell me that they lack motivation. When they tell this, I gently remind them that actually they DO have motivation. Otherwise, they would not be calling me to help. They just need me to help further motivate them by working with them at dedicated times to get things done. Organizing one’s home takes motivation and dedication. But, motivation and dedication are not the same.

Instead, dedication is the state of being committed to a task or purpose. Dedication does not rely on feelings. It’s a commitment to show up, no matter how one feels. Even when it is hard.

Motivation = mood, desire

Dedication = commitment

So, if you call me to help you get organized, yay! You are showing that you are indeed motivated! I will help you dedicate the time it takes to get it done. Our scheduled sessions will be dedicated times to work hard and get organized. You just show up. No matter what you are feeling. And, I will show up ready to motivate! I am dedicated to helping my clients find calm and peace and order in their lives and homes.

All you have to do is call me. Decide to show up to our session. Commit to work hard with me. Then you will see changes and results. Remember, if we relied on motivation alone, we would rarely keep going. Don’t rely solely on feelings.
